Every year since 1999, the Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation and Bruce House team up and organize the Taste For Life fundraising and awareness event taking place at a growing number of restaurants here in Ottawa. Since then, restaurants and communities across Canada have joined in on the fight to bring more awareness, education, and support for people living with HIV/AIDS in their own communities.
What is this event exactly? Essentially, restaurants in every participating town or city across Canada generously open their doors for one evening and they welcome guests with their friends, family, and coworkers for a delicious meal, drinks, and excellent company. %25 of all proceeds made that evening are kindly donated to AIDS Service Organizations in their community.
All you have to do is show up for dinner with some of your favourite people and %25 of the money you spend that evening will be donated. So, what better reason than to take the night off cooking, treat yourself to a scrumptious meal and feel good about helping someone you know, have not met yet, or may never meet, at the same time.
This year, Taste For Life takes place on May 1st! Participating restaurants in the city of Ottawa or in other participating cities can be found on the A Taste For Life Website!
